Old Forum Using Barbells with Kettlebells

I'm about to start a strength and conditioning regimen involving the barbell for the overhead press (coupled with pull ups) for strength purposes and the kettlebell for balistics/conditioning immediately following the grinds.  The grinds will be done in ladder format with the conditioning movements done in time frames - pretty much the "Rite of Passage" program found in ETK with the barbell being used instead of the kettlebell.  Any thoughts?

 
 
What's your rationale for using the barbell press instead of doing a straight RoP? What are your goals?

Can't go wrong with ETK.
 
Barbells allow for added weight as I progress.  The kettlebells I have are, I believe, not challenging enough for a straight military press - I won't progress too far with them.

If it were me, I would probably try to keep the volume lower with the OHP.
