I have been doing one leg squats 5 days a week.
I'm finding Cossacks to be one of the most restorative motions. They also are an amazing diagnostic for how ready I am to do my days one leg squats, if I'm not fully rooted through my entire foot during a Cossack then I know my hip, knee, and/or ankle alignment is going to be off and I'm going to compensate during my one leg squats.
There are other awesome moves that I didn't fully appreciate until I started doing a lot of one leg squats, but I've found the Cossacks to be very special.

Has this been anyone else's experience with Cossacks and single leg work?

I'm not currently doing pistols, but cossack's and windmills, both bw only, are go-to movements for me. Diagnostic, restorative. I move around a lot - "pry" - while doing my cossacks.

These three Farmer Burns exercises are also really helpful for the one leg squats, they seem to loosen up my hip capsule and get get the stabilizers firing properly.

I thought they were weird at first, but then I experienced the benefits and I love them (They are supposed to be done with (2) 3-5lb weights to failure).
