Also with get-ups, are you doing 10 per session? No worries on lagging -- just do whatever weight you can do well for 10 reps.
For get-ups - I just started a few weeks ago, and was shocked at my almost inability to roll left to elbow

Interesting development for me here: to make the story short- I had a first visit to a PT last week. Afer evaluating me and noting lack of muscle strength and neck range of movement - he basically kind of flicked and prodded my iliospoas and ...poof! Full range of power and movement. It felt miraculous to me.
I'm going to follow-up with a trainer on some specific exercises for that and related muscles, but I think I will be able to be more "normal " now in GU progress.
