Motivation, Part II

1.25.2022

A bit of kettlebell snatch work holding uneven kettlebells - 16/20kg & 18/20kg.

4TGUs - 20kg
6TGUs - 32kg

Lighter workout today.

Have not posted in a minute but still at it -

10x10 swings - 32kg
10xTGU - 32kg

I feel like my time for both exercises is coming down a bit, so some progress going on.

Followed by Goblet squat x 5 w 32kg

Tried something different today - woke up early, took a pre-workout, and hit 300 swings, 20kg, in sets of 10-25, with 20 of these with 32kg.

The pre-workout was key for getting thru this morning w/o.
 
slammed at work with a big M&A deal.

Just 10x10 32KG 1H swings today - definetly felt the stress I've accumulated over the past few weeks.

Had a bit of a breakthrough today:

8x32kg 1H swings - just under 4:30 minutes. Lungs were burning and heart redlining, so I had to then stop and lay down for a few minutes and then get up a bit later and finish the last two swings, for 10x total. But, it looks like timed simple, at least from a swing perspective, is now well within reach!

Decided to go for it again today - 10x10x 1H 32KG swings - 5 minutes and 57 seconds. Have some time to shave off, but pretty happy with the progress TBH.

Big PR for me today - 100 10x10 1H swings w 32kg in 4 minutes and 58 seconds! I think key was doing the workout later in the day, when I have more energy and endurance. Now, the question is how to have the strength to then do 10 TGUs! Going to keep working...

My whole family got extremely sick in March, and I feel like we are just coming out of it. Just getting back into the swing of things today. WO is below -

Back here after taking some inconsistent training due to a shoulder injury. Was doing a jerk movement sometime in April or May and felt something tweak in my shoulder and it has just not been the same since, leading me to pretty much give up on OHP-type movements (though TGU is still generally OK). Busy as ever at work and at home with 2 kids under 5.

Goals for the rest of this year and next year is to jump back on S&S wagon but, acknowledging limited time and energy, really focus on swings and walking. LFG! Goal remains to hit TIMED simple sometime, hopefully next year, and time for me to start building more momentum towards this goal. Going to track my general activity here.

Today:

11/3/2023 (Friday)
Up: 7.50am.
10x10 32kg swings.

I want to re-iterate for myself how amazing I feel after doing some swings; strong and energized. Ideally, I would wake up at 630am each morning, make some coffee or preworkout for 15/20 minutes, and then get a good workout in... goals..

Another thing I struggle with is maintaining my energy levels. I feel amazing for about an hour or two after my KB training, and sleep amazing at night, but the hours between that I feel pretty fatigued. Today I've resorted to drinking redbull, and I think I'll keep doing this until my body adjusts to the required energy expenditure.

My father was visiting from out of country and so I spent a few consecutive evenings drinking wine with him and eating well which of course was not conducive to training the next morning.

Trying out a bit of a new workout today to sneak some more swing volume in.

11.8.23 (Wednesday)
Up: 6:40am (thank goodness for daylight savings time)
6x20 32kg 1H swings (120 total)
4x32kg bent press.
