Hello everybody.
I am about to buy a used barbell set (50mm) for future endeavours, but mainly for my brother.
I tried to get him on S&S, but he realy digs the idea of a minimal deadlift routine, so i thoght:

Power to the people.

The set i buy comes with
2x20kg
4x15kg
6x10kg
4x5kg

The way i read pttp, it calls for jumps of 5lbs, so 2x2,5lbs plates.
At the same time i see Pavel T. talking about those as "washers" which should be painted pink and then given away as presents ;)

Questions:
-Should i buy small kg plates?
-if not how to approach the jumps in weight?
-no rack, so i thought i stick to the original plan of side presses. yes/no?

Thanks all, and i am gonna tag @Pavel Macek here, for good measure ;)

@Roland Roppelt

- test 1RM for both lifts
- test RM with 80% of 1RM
- post the 1RM for both lifts and number of reps with 80% of 1RM

And I will tell you more (or purchase Reload and you will see why.... Actually, purchase Reload anyway.)

@Roland Roppelt - Micro plates aren't bad but can get expensive. If you have access to a sporting goods store that sells baseball equipment a 20 ounce bat weight coves a 1.25 lbs micro plate and fits on a barbell. Hope this helps. And the 5,3,2 range is pretty decent, don't have to bother with the weight changes.
