I’m following a PTTP wave cycle trying to improve my DL strength and form. Last winter I worked up to a 2x body weight conventional DL, but my form wasn’t great at that weight. 2x body weight for me is 275lbs.
this winter I’m trying to wave my way back up into the 315 range and try to get there in both Sumo and Conventional. I alternate sets.
My question is weight jumps. Right now I jump 10lbs each workout and DL 5x/week at 5 reps, 3 reps, 2 reps each workout.
4 steps forward, 3 steps back and repeat that 4 times. Then drop back to the starting weight+10lbs and do it again. Hope that makes sense. I’m slowly working my way up because I really want to have solid form.
As I get closer to 2x body weight, is only dropping back 30lbs(3steps) enough? Should I start adjusting in 15lb jumps to get a larger weight drop? I’m thinking of keeping the higher weight targets the same but adjust the lowest weights lower so that it’s in 15 lb changes.
