Other/Mixed Post-apocalipse training

More to the point, no one has mentioned yet the most important thing: groups. Being a sole badass survivor seems like a fantasy to me. A group that has a clear leadership, internal loyalty and an ability to act as a cohesive whole will usually win over dispersed, solitary people, even if the latter possess superior skills, capabilities, or tools. If you expect an apocalypse, better become part of such a group. Ideally it would be composed of people interested in physical fitness, nutrition, combat and survival skills etc., with matching political beliefs, but ANY social net where people know and rely on you and you know and rely on them is better than nothing.

If a post-apocalypse town consists of 100 old women who used to meet several times a week in a knitting circle and 100 solitary preppers who have stockpiled enormous amount of ammo and canned food, each have USSTs over 300 and press 60 kg kettlebells for reps, the grandmas are going to take over if only they keep their knitting needles reasonably sharp. In fact, you could make it 1000 or 10000 preppers - as long as they don't know or trust each other, they are going to lose.
 
If you ever watch the show "Alone", the "super survival guys" usually don't do very well. The ones that are OK with being alone for 100 days are the ones that win. Mindset is very important. Being OK with being in the situation is important if you want to last long term.
Those of us who live in monasteries, like, say, Carthusians.

Maybe a good point. But there seems to be no shortage of these types in the current US and yet the country is ruled by fat, mostly elderly people who couldn't do a single push-up. Would post-apocalypse world be that different and why?
The law of the jungle replaces the law of socially engineered sit on your butt softness , phones, computers, media, comfort.
 
Yes, I agree about avoiding injuries and not leaving yourself too tired/sore to perform when called upon.
But - why no TGUs?
I have been doing barbell for 3 years. I have been doing TGUs for half a year. I wonder about your choice. Also - I wonder about snatches.

Maybe I mean no heavy TGUs, but I was thinking generally the risk/reward ratio for some exercises isn't going to be worth it, and I think for me TGUs are one of those. Like kipping pull-ups or muscle-ups, and a few other things alongside them. But it's not a universal, people will have their own variation on what to avoid.

Yes, but we're talking physical training plans for this situation, not survival generally.

I remember in Poli Sci 101 the professor pointed out that it is no coincidence that the group that gets a monthly check from the government and free healthcare is the same group that is the most reliable voting bloc.

But even in a post apocalypse with food scarcity, being obese is a great asset! Can't eat for a month? Oh well. Looks like you will be hitting those reserves. Break your arm and need a couple months to heal where you can't gather as much food? Thats fine. You have a cushion. Get an illness that takes you out for a week? OK, you got the reserves!

Quiet professionals, keeping to themselves or a small group of select friends. They're around, just not spending all day being a keyboard commando.
They're my neighbors.
I assume none of them are singlehandedly fighting the US government right now.
