I can do a left front split but whenever I try to do it with square hips but whenever I do, I feel a stretch behind the knee(between the hamstring and the calf) just in this part. Some other things involving hamstring stretches always make me feel a stretch in this area and I'm not sure whether that's normal or not. Does it have any side effects at all or downsides for stretching that part? Is stretching it safe? Is stretching tendons or ligaments a bad thing? Does it have any downsides or side effects?
