Less is More

03.17
Slept great last night...taking the evening off was the right choice.

Training @ 04:18 PM

Kb Snatch
24k x 26s x 05r

Mace 360s
08k x 10s x 06r

Making good improvements on my snatch form, most especially with grip control. I’m learning what frames of the movement I need to relax my grip and when I need to throttle it. And along with that my ability to relax the grip is improving...not sure why that skill has taken so long to develop for me.

Mace is also going well. Getting more flexibility in my shoulders which lets me get the mace back there and load up the lats more.

No walk today. Another mini-dust storm blew into town.

03.22 - Fasted Snatching

Fasted Training @ 11:10 AM

Snatch
24k x 36s x 05r

I REALLY love when my workday schedule allows me to fit my training in before lunch. Very easy to get into the flow of the movement, whether running or snatching.

Part 2

I prefer it too, to have my training done in the morning.

Buteyko then a walk after work makes for the perfect workday decompression routine.

Snatch
24k x 22s x 05r

Mace 360s
08k x 10s x 06r

Excellent practice, although my left knee was quite creaky during warmups.

Snatch continues to feel better every week. The drop has improved so much that around a third of the reps are discomfort free on the skin.

The mace work has gotten a couple notches better. I’m really focusing on pulling the mace forward again as quickly as possible; this takes a lot of negative stress off the elbows and puts it back into the tissues.

Glad to see snatching is getting better, it's a beautiful movement.

You're right about actively pulling the mace back over bro, swinging it with my stomach and elbows high takes a lot guess work out of dialing in technique for me.

Is the knee ok?
