Other/Mixed Recent Fitness-Related Purchases

Other strength modalities (e.g., Clubs), mixed strength modalities (e.g., combined kettlebell and barbell), other goals (flexibility)
Damn, that BaseBlocks Nordic Plus was only $385 a few weeks ago.

I don't recall Coop having reviewed the Nordic Plus. He did, however, recently review the Shogun/Mr. Infinity Nord-Ex. $1000, $850 for preorder.

Just bought some “AHHH!” nose torque. Supposedly the most powerful one you can get.

Curious to see how it compares to the old double barrel.

Update: this is stupid strong smelling salts. I would opt for traditional strength ones lol. You can smell the closed bottle 10’ away.

I bought a 10litre watering can for my suburban farm as we're gearing up for spring. I grow my own veggies, herbs, and health goods (ginger, garlic, tumeric, chillies, canna)...I went looking for this online and found discounted KB's!

Could go light on the dbl's for endurance.
DAMN YOU DON! This has been sitting on my mind and then you poked me with your comments, and I enjoyed that enduro-strength session so much. I bought 12kg for my friend and a 16kg bell for myself.

Now I have a 12kg, 2 x 16kg's, 24kg, gymn rings, 2x skipping ropes (dug them out of the dungeon last week), running sandals, and my tech (watch + HR strap + smartphone).

My primary mission in my current 8 week block *was* to 'worlds best workout A+A' C+J+C... the 16kg and grow into cleaning the 24kg. now I will have to modify the mission to dbl C+J 16kg.

But seriously: thanks @Don Fairbanks it was a perfect storm leading up to these purchases:)

I picked up a log from Rogue - LB-1 Rogue 10 in. Log Bar - Strongman Weight Training

I've done Easy Muscle Schedule A with kettlebells and barbells. Figured I'd pick up a log and give Easy Muscle Schedule A a run through with it. Never used a log before so I'll get a lot of reps in the next 12 weeks.
Good purchase!
Me and a friend did RoP with log C & MP.
He increased his max from 120kg to 145 in 2 RoP-cycles.

I picked up a pair of used 24kg Titan Competition kettlebells. My first experience with comp bells. So far they're a hit with the ballistics but a miss with the grinds.
Why?
I've stayed away because the handle size seems to preclude 2H, but I'd have thought 1H for a grind would be OK.

Grab another 12 or use your friends and give GN's The Wolf a go.

Comps are all the same size regardless of weight, so these are huge compared to my cast iron 24s. They're slightly larger than my 32s. So more/different surface area contact on the forearm. Sounds good in theory, but so far its not comfortable. The main negative with the size though was with double front squats. Felt like I was going to tip forward and lose the moving rack position constantly.

Probably both things that can be worked through. And maybe I'll gtg grinds with them in the future, but trying to throw them into the middle of a program with grinds isn't happening.

High stress summer and decided to buy some things to try to fill the void.

Bought this for $100 on Amazon - a cheapo adjustable hyperextension bench. It's absolutely not made for big or tall people, but I'm not tall enough for that to matter and although it's a little cramped, it's workable. I already owned a 45 degree hyper, but this is adjustable to a listed 50 degrees and it can be folded up and stowed away when not in use. Durability is absolutely a question, but I figure if it lasts a year or two of steady use, then it was a good purchase.

Major upgrade to the gym this weekend. Carrying in 4x6 horse stall mats and carrying in the rack was quite the workout. Thank god kettlebells had me up to the task, managed to do it all solo.

Took her for a trial run on some squats and so much better than my squat stands.
