To be fair - the Book does give very good guidance on this very sort of situation. which, I am currently re-reading.It does sound like the extra work is putting a stress on the recovery.
Put IC into "maintenance" mode—ballpark 30 sets for single bell, 15-20 sets for doubles (vary IC version, load etc.) and see if that gets you feeling better recovered.
