Tom’s Practice Log

NTS: is it Simple practice if I’m not keeping strictly to the letter, and adding in chin-ups or hammer curls? I like the swings and the getups, these have been incredibly formative, so I’m always going to work them in, but I’m not aiming for ‘Timed’ standards, I’ve hit ‘Timeless Simple’ and I’m happy with that achievement for now. I’m drawn to double kettlebells, but I think I’ll keep to a single session a week for now, I need to get my technical skills dialled in before I ramp up with those.

Two Arm Swing: 10x10

Step up with the 32kg tonight, somehow it helped to ease my mind doing the getups tonight. Extra set on Left side.

Towel Hammer Curl: 4 x 6 (32kg)

Bar hang: 1 x 60 secs
 
Total fail tonight. Feeling rushed for time, and massively stressed out about work. Swings ok, get ups a complete mess as could not focus. Also, it will be Friday before I can get another session in, as I’ll be on the road all day tomorrow and probably not home before 10:00. In a stinking mood tonight; take ten minutes out, reset, try again.

So, eventually managed to claw my way through a standard session. In the end it looked like this:

Not feeling strong, felt an effort to finish.

Get Ups: 10x1

Total fail, form terrible, cannot get head into the zone.

Time Out.

Chin-ups: 7/5/5/3/2

I’m going to put some of this down to the massive drive (590mi) I did yesterday, unfortunately it’s being repeated tomorrow, so it may be Saturday before I feel in the right place. I’ll maybe make Friday a light session.
 
Returning after a few days off, been struggling a bit again this past few days and feeling a bit out of shape. Take it steady.

Strong on 28, 32 feels weaker.

32 (right) was solid, 32 (Left) made it on second attempt. Form was out again tonight.

32 (right) was solid, 32 (Left) a bit stronger tonight, pack in extra 32kg. On finishing: 2 x practice ‘drive to elbow prop’, on left.
