Simple and Sinister to Timed Simple Standard
What I've been Up To and the Reason for a New Log
Just got done Phase 1 of Al and Danny Kavadlos 'Get Strong' Program. I wanted to do Phase 1 to give myself a break from the bells and to really determine where I...
Hey SFers. I’d like some opinions on whether I stand to notably lose progress with my current plan.
Approximately 8 months ago, after a enjoying predominantly barbell training for a year or two, I decided to revisit my kettlebells and simple and sinister. I re-achieved the Simple standard, and...
Today I knocked out the Simple test.
I performed ten sets of ten one-arm swings with a 70lb dumbbell in 9:20.
I took one minute rest.
Then I performed ten sets of one Turkish-get-up in 8:59.
I did five sets on each side.
During my second Turkish get-up (on my right, dominant side) I failed...
As stated in a previous post I'm returning to kettlebell simple and sinister. What stopped me last time was my single armed swing. Started back with the 24kg bell yesterday, need to fix my grip positioning but any other form corrections would be great. Today was my second practice back and I...
I started to get into the rhythm of the Simple program and I’m now using the recommended start weights according to Simple and Sinister. However my Turkish get up on the left side is a little weak, to the point I scared myself once or twice. Tonight I was only able to do 4 reps with 35 lbs...
Hi everyone, I have a quick question for those who have tried out the ‘From Simple to Sinister’ training plan Pavel created a few years ago.
I only have a 36kg bell available to me, and I’m working on reaching the ‘Timed’ standards. I’ve been training S&S since April now and absolutely love it...
Simple and Sinister Revised and Updated
I originally came across Pavel from a high school friend back in 2010. Never really thought much of it until last September, I came across Pavel as a guest on the Joe Rogan experience! I...

Reason for New Log
I'm not proud of my program hopping or alterations I make to existing programs done by people far more advanced and smarter than me. I am creating this log for accountability, discipline and turning over a new training leaf of consistency.
I just joined and though I would say hello! I have received some great tips and inspiration from the forums on my journey to the Simple & Sinister program. I thought I'd share my journey through it which is a little different approach, and that having a public log is a nice motivation.
In my quest to makes things simple, my life has come full circle back to the program minimum. For the last few months I've been working on calisthenics with an online coach but have had enough. I picked up Simple and Sinister 2.0 a while back and love the improvements. My only concern...
Okay so, I've been using (& loving S&S) for some time now and regularly do 'Simple' timeless a couple of times a week and time myself doing it now and then to make sure I haven't "lost it" over the past couple of years. So far, things are very good in this department.
Additionally, I have...
Starting the journey to Simple & hopefully beyond in 2020.
I'm 40 y/o 170 lbs and moderately athletic. In a previous career I was a firefighter and practiced strength training (mostly 5x5 barbell workouts). Currently a software engineer and out of the strength practice for quite some time...
Hi Guys ,
Do we have a concept of heavy light medium days in S & S ?
I’m in extremely beginner level , only do two hand swings using either 32kg or 20kg and half getups using 8kg.
I do practice everyday. if I feel some what fatigue then I switch to 20kg . Some days switch between 32kg and...
I'm new, and glad to be here! After stumbling upon this forum and searching for a while, I decided to see if I can join the forum, and here I am.
After researching about the best option to get back in shape, I searched online, having previously been fat, and later known about...
History of GS kettlebell lifting, and would like you good folks to critique my HS swing. My right arm is my strong (compared to STRONGER left arm) arm. Did 10x10 today, I believe this was set 9.
Also, I am unable to complete TGU due to Osgood-Schlatter on my left knee. I have tried sleeves...
Hello Community :)
I want to share with you my three simple ways to stay fresh for longer during Strength Training :)
1. Rolling/Massage Muscles between sets
2. Drink Water between sets
3. Ensure fresh air in the place where you practice
What you think about it ? Write below :)
First off, yes, I was trying to have everything in the title start with 's'.
Since March, I have made great progress, learned a lot, and surprised myself with the ability to get to the point where I am regularly swinging 32kgs with one arm as well as training the get up with 36 &...
I just started S&S approximately a week ago and want some advice. Currently I gtg with chin ups and I do 2 or 3 reps here and there throughout the day. I also want to gtg with some loaded carries whenever I'm home for the day. Does anybody have recommendations for gtg with...
I see a lot of people in the training logs talk about A+A training, and am trying to learn more about it and see what it would mean (potentially) for carryover into preparation for training in BJJ. So far, I have found the call for research that Al Ciampa posted a while back and a couple of...
